Charlotte Intern Living

I'll be in Charlotte, NC as an IB summer intern. I'm unfamiliar with the area and would like input on where to live for 10 weeks. An analyst recommended Elements and Catalyst, but I'm looking for other options.

Thanks!

yetimoney, sorry about the lack of response. Maybe one of these topics will help:

You could get a place in the Vue and be neighbors with our girl Justine Tobin.

There are plenty of luxury high rises in Uptown Charlotte. They're all cookie cutter and virtually all the same. I'm not sure which ones do shorter-term leases, so I cannot help you there, but Charlotte has dramatically increased the amount of luxury high rises in the past 5-10 years. That's why so many of those threads from the bot are outdated.

EDIT: Uptown Charlotte is also incredibly small, so regardless of where you're working, you can live in any of the four wards and realistically still walk to work.

To add to this, the Johnson and Wales dorms are called City View Towers. Not bad, but no amenities like the Catalyst. A fair amount of people found airbnbs last summer too.

If you're working in uptown (BofA/ Wells) a car is completely unnecessary as the previous poster mentioned, there is a huge luxury apartment boom in both uptown and the Southend. The Southend is a little cheaper with plenty of bars/restaurants within walking distance and has a light rail that runs directly into uptown with multiple stops in the Southend. Total commute using the light rail from the southern part of the Southend is probably 7-10 minutes and you could probably walk to work in 15-30 minutes depending on where you live in the Southend.

Did you seriously ask if Charlotte has Uber? 10,000 person towns have Uber.

Uptown has tons of apartments, the LYNX will get you to and from South Park if you choose that route, and yes, the city has all the modern technologies like fax machines and 8 tracks.
