Gpa verification? (Recruit for sa 26)

When you submit your gpa to these firms and they extend you an offer, do they ask for verification from your school or do they just ask you to submit a transcript?

If so, what’s to stop ppl from completely fabricating their gpa and editing that shit

to ppl thinking of doing this:

if your gpa is so bad that you have to lie because you can’t get an internship based on your merits/personality, then don’t even bother applying

realistic answer: you probably won’t get caught. but there is a non-zero chance you will, potentially destroying your early career prospects at a firm/city (because groups do talk). that risk is on you

They could easily ask for a transcript if they felt inclined to. Please don’t ruin ur chances.

Wait no I wasn’t planning on but my question is say they do end up asking for verification, what’s to stop someone from editing the pdf of the transcript if the school isn’t required to hand over anything?

The way I think about it is that in hs when we were submitting college apps our couneslors were required to submit our transcripts so there was no way to lie about that

I'm pretty sure quite a few banks will ask for your internship and past internship verification once they have already extended an offer. So if you completely lie about your GPA, i.e saying you have a 3.9 when you have a 3.5 then they will likely rescind the offer. I wouldn't run the risk but the decision is yours.

Regarding verifying internships, they'll ask for references from each of your past places and they will reach out to verify that you actually worked there during the time you claimed on your resume. It's pretty surface-level since it is done by a 3rd party org.

Editing your transcript won't work because they'll ask for a copy directly from the school or whatever 3rd party source you need to order your transcript directly.

Given the questions you are asking here, I am fairly confident you are either thinking of inflating your GPA on your resume, OR have already done so during networking and applications and are trying to gauge what the fallout could be. You will very likely be found out through any number of ways and at best you'll be blacklisted from a firm, at worst you'll be effectively blacklisted from IB

No clue. But as long as you have a paper trail documenting that those grades came in later and caused your GPA to be lower than what you initially thought it would be, then I imagine you'd be fine.

Hey man I tried this awesome strategy and put MD on my resume, it worked now im a partner at CVP/EVR/PJT! plz reach out to me if you're looking for SA 26, only if you have a 4.69/4 GPA though

why would you intentionally disqualify yourself? if asked nothing, say nothing..
