Most girls in IBD are doing it because they couldnt use their looks to help them attain success (like prettier girls can), so they have to slug it out like the rest of us guys.

A little over a month ago, I visited Cswiss, JPM, and BAML. It was for work and got to meet a lot of the sales/traders and got to hang around the trading floor of all three. BAML had hotties everywhere. And a lot of them were wearing dresses that you would normally see at clubs.
I'm assuming all these girls were in sales.
What differences did you notice between the banks' trading desks in terms of culture and environment?

I have alot to add here...
1) If you are going into this business for the girls you have got some real problems. And if you are girl and going into it for the guys like user then you've got real issues. Occasionally you'll find a hot saleswoman but in general wall st both guys and girls is filled with pretty unattractive people both physically and on the inside.
2) Michelle Meyer is quite cute but married...she has been into our office quite a few times to present her views.
3) On the subject of "company ink" its generally no big deal. The only people I have seen get into trouble for it had blatant issues...ie I know a 40 year old married sales guy who was banging his 22 year old analyst and then after he became basically obsessed with her (as tends to happen when a fat 40 year old guy manages to hook up with a good looking girl of that age) she breaks it off and complains to HR that he is a wierdo (which he was). But other then situations like that i say have a good time.
4) Lastly, St Louis girls are bad but not nearly as bad as Wash U girls so nobody from Wash U should be saying anything. I would venture to guess that WUSTL has the ugliest girls in the nation.

An 30-something guy I know worked in both LA and SF, and he said that out there all women care about is tech money (SF) and media (music, tv, film) in LA. He's a guy who does very well with women in NY and made a ton of money in the early 2000's but would get passed over in favor of C-list actors and no-client agents in LA and by any guy with VC dollar in his startup in SF.

I know alot of dudes who work in LA and you are definitely a fish out of water if your not in the entertainment industry...nobody there cares about finance. When I was a Summer Associate, we would occasionally have events/training with the Summer Analysts as well.
Those were the best days by far. There were a few fresh analysts who were on a whole 'nother level. One of them even wore cocktail dresses to work.
Normally, I'd be trying not to pass out at these training things, but not when she was there.

I'm not sure what goes on over in New York, but in London the attitude towards sexual harassment and women in the workplace and all that is TOTALLY different than in the US.
You can still get in trouble if you do something completely stupid, but all joking aside, there are people who definitely intentionally (and one could argue systematically) hire hot girls.
Don't get me wrong, it's no modeling agency, it's still in the end an investment bank, but there's always something to keep it interesting.
