Has anyone heard back from SMBC. I know they reviewed hirevues last week, but still have not heard anything. Curios on what to expect over the next couple weeks.

no clue i had an ocr but haven't heard back, supposedly some people got an email from HR about which group they prefer
Had OCR last week and got an email on Friday asking to rank groups. Apparently they are determining if you get a Super Day based on your preferences. Still waiting to hear back.
Word. What groups are you preffing?
1. IBA, 2. Project Finance, and the rest I just randomly selected. Not sure what groups SMBC are really strong in besides Project Finance.
If i didn't hear back about group preferences am I dinged?
I have no idea. During the end of my first round, the bankers mentioned that they would get back to me mid-November so I was surprised to get an email about group preferences on the same week. I would expect OCR to be at different stages depending on the school you go to, so I wouldn't lose hope yet. Good luck!
Just received a rejection email. Super bummed because I did a good amount of networking and was told I was in the interview pool.

Does anyone have any insight on SMBC's Investment Banking Group as a whole? I understand it is relatively new and rapidly growing. How is it perceived on the street, deal flow, exit opportunities, caliber of the people, etc?

Various divisions gave out offers on Monday for their first choice candidates. Depending on how many accepts, they will reach out to second choice candidates at the end of this week or next week.
do you know which in particular?
IBA and DCM in particular - there might be more though
I interviewed with debt syndicate, so I assume offers went out if DCM did
