Summer Internship weeks

I am a US student interested in attending London School of Economics. This might be a stupid question, but I was just thinking.... UK schools end pretty late (mid july). If I look to come back to the US (NYC or Chicago) for summer internships, wouldn't the internship programs have started before my school ends? If I look to intern in London, obviously banks will work around this.... but as for the US, I don't know how this works??

Thanks in advance!

Yes. Mid-July? No U.S. office is going to work around that for you. Most banks begin their programs in late May/early-June and end in early August (with Lehman being the exception. It ending in mid-July)

If you're going to attend LSE, you're essentially forfeitting a summer internship.

However, I know when I was an SA at Lehman. Individuals interned during the first session (late May to mid-July) and then studied at LSE for the 2nd session, but Lehman really is the only bank with that type of flexibility.

Let's just say there is absolutely no way for me to work a US Internship around my school schedule. If I intern at the UK, how hard will it be to get a full time offer for a bank in the US? Or will I just have to work there for a year, then ask for a transfer within the company to the US?

THanks
