Which would be better for banks? I'm an international student, so no worries on financial issue.

Banks meaning IB?

Yeah U Chicago is definitely the top ranked here.

Any of these is a great option, really can't go wrong. International does make recruiting trickier given sponsorship issue though, be aware of that and ready to target banks that sponsor.

UVA my one concern would be that McIntire is not an automatic process and you have to work hard to get into the b-school there. Obviously if you keep your grades up for IB this shouldn't be a problem, but it is a consideration. UChicago would be my choice, but you will have solid options from any of these three. I would visit all of them if possible and see which you like better and could see yourself doing well at.

Given the options, I would pick UVA McIntire. I wouldn't really want to live in Ithica or Chicago. The girls are hot at UVA and the school places well in banking. Charlottesville is a nice little college party town. Full disclosure I have 21 credit hours from UVA (from Valencia, Spain), so I'm partial to UVA. I've visited Charlottesville and partied there and loved it. It's all up to you for what college experience you want to have. It's 4 years of your life.

If you just want to hit the books hard and freeze your ass off in the Windy City, maybe Chicago is for you. Even if you do go to Chicago, you can take a semester or summer to study abroad in Spain through UVA in Valencia which is a blast (highly recommended).

Uchicago probably or cornell. 100% dont do UVA

What's wrong with UVA?

UChicago >> UVA > CornellChicago definitely best overall, not even a question. Only reason I put UVA over Cornell is because UVA seems like a more fun school. Yes, Cornell probably places better on paper, but if you get good grades at UVA you’ll be fine too, albeit with a (potentially) more fun experience. But it all depends on what you want in a school.

Yes definitely.

I go to UVA. Anyone that puts any semblance of effort into recruiting for IB/MBB will place well. We have kids going everywhere in the buyside and sellside. Plenty that I know personally at MM/BB/EB banks, MF/UMM/MM PE, many HFs, and MBB/T2. Plus its an incredible amount of fun. Don't let these nerds scare you into going to cornell or uchicago because they're ivy or ranked higher on US news. You will end up in the same firms while having a far better college experience. Lmk if you have any questions.

Yes exactly - UVA is the sh**. Better experience, same opportunities. Haters gonna hate.

College is more than just IB placement. Would you take NYU stern over Princeton/MIT/Stanford? NYU places more into IB than those schools.

It's undeniable that later in life the Cornell/Chicago name will take you farther than the UVA name. They're simply more prestigious, lol. That matters for buyside + the halo effect when it comes to getting VC money, etc.

In a vacuum, sure. But killers are killers regardless of where they go. And OP also asked specifically about banks. Any reason you're so invested in this topic?

Agreed - the Cornell name will carry much further than UChicago followed by UVA. You will get all the BB/EB/MFPE/REPE interviews as long as you maintain a high GPA, involved with on-campus clubs, and put in effort for networking
