What smartphone are you on?
Just curious, which smartphone do you use? An iPhone, an Android (specify brand/model), or Blackberry/Windows?
I use an Android, the LG G3. I pre-ordered it the second it went on pre-order, forced the carrier to give me an upgrade 2 months early on the threat of leaving to their main rival carrier, and I love it. Amazing battery, 2k screen, etc. I had Samsung Galaxy 3 before, as well as Motorola Atrix and HTC Inspire. Used to use BB wayyy back when. I tried an iPhone once, and I hated it. Lack of customization, small screen, no widgets, no notification blinking light, and having to pay for apps I could get free on Android (Angry Birds, Fruit Ninja (at the time), full versions of graphing calculators and package apps, etc.). My one complaint with the G3 is that developers for CNBC and Bloomberg are stiffing my phone, so I have to sideload their apps. I feel like Apple and possibly Samsung has secret deals with them to keep their apps from getting to rival manufacturers for a while.

Also an LG G3 user. Love it, but the battery life is lacking a bit. I have to keep a spare charger at work because the phone won't last a whole day under heavy usage. Might have something to do with the brightness -- the default brightness was in the 30% range and I found it way too dim and it hurt my eyes a bit, too, so I had to raise it to 50%.

Currently have an iPhone 5 and I'm due for an upgrade. I'm thinking of going with the Note 4, kinda fed up with the Apple ecosystem.
I only use burners and throwaways. Like Jack Bauer, after every call I rip out the sim and curb stomp it.
But how do you keep also those amazing voicemail greetings ready to go?
I've had both iphone 5s and now a galaxy S5, and I wish I could have my iPhone back. It's not quite as powerful, but the touch screen is generations ahead of any other phone and it just feels much more solid.

Droid Razr Maxx HD Would not recommend
OnePlus One. Great battery, great camera, fast as hell. 5.5" screen though, so might be a bit big for some folks. I thought it was going to be impossible to get used to, coming from a Nexus 4. I was surprised thought- after 3-4 days with it, I can't go back.
4S. Cracked it two weeks ago. Going for a 6 when I feel confident in IOS8.
iPhone 4. Switching to Windows phone soon sine iOS8 is so buggy and Tim Cook is cooked (if ya know what I'm sayin!)
want a n6 but screen so massive. can't find a pure android device with a s805 and around 5.5" or so.
Nexus 5. Had an HTC one. Before that is had an IPhone 5, IPhone 3, bunch of blackberry models, etc etc. I love phones.

Anyone looking at the Nexus 6? I was kind of hoping it'd just be an updated Nexus 5 (similar specs, similar price, some upgrades, etc.) but they completely re-did it and now it's like twice the price. Due for a new phone but not sure what I want now, except that I want to stay on Android.
i'm thinking about copping it, but the screen is a little too massive...
Yeah I hear you. On the other hand, maybe it's something you like after you get used to it.
I'm on dat der poverty no phone. I thought it would suck, but it actually is nice to not have too many distractions in your pocket.

My buddy who just started at UBS was issued a refurbished iPhone 3GS.
A fair number still have BBs, iPhones, Android. No one cares if they have a byod policy just ask if there is any software comparability needs.
At this point in time I'd say iPhone is most typical. Apple has made a lot of moves toward being more business friendly while still maintaining all their touches for personal use. It really does depend on where you are working, but due to the extent of their app store, the iPhone is your best bet for compatibility if you don't have a clue. Blackberry's new stuff is absolutely terrible. I had the Z10 and dropped it from about 4 feet and the screen is now entirely disabled. To cut costs they used one layer of glass rather than the typical two layers that the iPhone and almost all android phones have so even an incredibly small and almost unnoticeable crack on a new Blackberry will render the touchscreen entirely worthless. It's about a $30 repair if you do it yourself, but not having a phone for any amount of time is horrible. Android lacks a ton of apps although they are stocking up and doing pretty well at catching up with the iPhone, Apple still rules the app world.
TL;DR - iPhone is generally the best, BB has a lot of flaws and one huge design flaw, Android is a close second, but might not give you what you need.

I swapped my bberry for an iphone a few years ago and then swapped that for a samsung galaxy as I found it easier to review documents, spreadsheets, etc. based on the screen size and functionality of the programs. I also found email and the keyboard to be more manageable. I also prefer the video playback on the SG. Really depends on your shop and your own personal preference.

I am working with a startup and since this seems to be a fairly diverse group of finance professionals, I wanted to find out what kind of Smartphone/cellphone do you have. No need to be too specific, a simple "BlackBerry" "iPhone" "Palm" "Motorola" "Cell Phone" or "none" would be great. Pearl as a personal phone. Most of us are complete tools with two blackberries... well mainly since we can't access or gmail/yahoo accounts at work, we need another blackberry. My work blackberry is a curve, and I'm pretty sure most people who mentioned pearl / iphone have 88xx's or Curves.
