Best M&A news source?
Just wondering what sources people generally rely on to get broad M&A news, including the more industry-relevant details (leverage multiples, funding mechanisms, lead banks/law firms, etc.). I'm looking in particular for a place to get the "less newsworthy" deals on my radar.
My daily reads are:
Other things I read (not every day):
Good list but there's a glaring gap here... bruhhh you forgot about Dealbreaker
I'm withholding my SB
Thanks for sharing this. Bullpen News and Stratechery were new to me +SB
Hadn't heard of bullpen news or stratechery before. Thx +SB
..
Stratechery and bullpen were new to me and look dope. SB for your trouble
Anyone got other tech blogs besides stratechery?
I also peruse: - avc - hackernews - venture beat
Curious what else is out there
Thanks SB for you
This list is great. Thx.
Hadn't seen stratechery before, and just signed up for bullpen. Thanks for the recs
Thanks for the recs. Embarrassed to say I had not been following Levine or Bullpen before
Got Bullpen this Am. Hands down best newsletter. + SB for the rec.
Jc - how long has this been around?
Hadnt seen Bullpennews before. Just signed up. Thx

Copy and paste the above address into your browser for a good read on M&A Activity this year (need to download .pdf file).
Page 15 has Top 25 banks (for announced deals) this year. Somewhat surprising after Top 10.
Petition11 - Really good distressed/bankruptcy deals
Hadn't come across this before. Thank you
Thanks for sharing!
Thanks man
Will try to post more recent version this week.
I find Twitter to be the best way of getting real-time coverage on deals/M&A
Here are some people/feeds to follow:
lot's more, PM me to get my twitter handle cuz i retweet a lot of them and aggregate
I used Mergermarket, and its mobile app Acuris.
Gotta try Matt Levine's column on Bloomberg and BullpenNews (and if you're into tech - stratechery). You'll never look back
Sure, just check it out, it's amazing. I just use Mergermarket to pick up deal intelligence for interviews. If I look for insights regarding deal dynamics I would definitely choose Levine's column.
These are some of my favorites as well
Not exactly deal news - but I also enjoy the stories on efinancialcareers. Most are focused on banking industry dynamics, etc.
Yeah I enjoy these as well. Some of it's like a slightly more professional version of dealbreaker
The efinancialcareers breakup article today was a real tear-jerker
is it just me or is efinancialcareers really really toxic
Great links above. Keep them coming.
You're my boy
Pitchbook is also great, you can subscribe to their emails
also interested. bookmarking this.
I like Pillars of Wall Street’s “Deal of the Week”. They will typically do a comprehensive one pager on a major deal including rationale behind the deal and the multiples backing it. Only negative is that they don’t publish frequently so you would have to rely on a combination of other sources to bridge the gap.
Found these useful when interviewing for sure, but not as good for weekly deal coverage
great suggestion. thank you
I did too but check it every so often. I forgot to add LCD comps. Rich source of information from a financing perspective on event driven plays
