Entourage
Any Entourage fans on here? Recently got into the show and just finished watching all of the episodes. In my opinion one of the best tv shows of all time. From what I read its super realistic too which is pretty cool. There's gotta be a lot of people on here that are big fans
in the same boat mane, just turned 17 so Mama finally unblock HBO in my room, finished all 8 seasons in 3 days but no Game of Thrones allowed she say it 2 violent :-(
First few seasons were great...then it was just a let down
The last season was garbage. Ari going back to his wife was trash he should of stayed with Dana. E being beta and pining for sloan. Also wtf was up with Vinny getting married to some random extra, should of kept him single. Show was treading water post aquaman.
^Agree with those two posts; liked it at first but then it got kinda old.
I also didn't like that the episodes were like 30 minutes... I think it could have benefited from a full hour slot.
Amazing show till the last 2 seasons...
There should be a movie maybe two coming out within a few years.
Best part in the whole show
http://www.youtube.com/embed/UMdmWjtDRPE
I have the whole series on DVD, I guess I am going to have to start watching it again. Thanks a lot butthole. You made me nostalgic.
The ending is too typical hollywood
One of the best shows in my opinion as well, even tests couple seasons despite what a lot of people say. I think the plot ran its natural course.
one of the best shows and also quite close to the actual industry (I have friends working in LA). I thought there were rumors to make Entourage - the movie? Guess that fizzled out too.
the first seasons were the best 1-3, have to agree.
First 3 seasons were tight, after that it was alright or maybe slightly better than alright. Anything with Ari in it was gold. They left that cliffhanger with Ari getting the studio offer, if they ended up making a movie about him taking it, I'd watch it.
I love Entourage, but I am embarrassed to tell my friends that I do.
Most of my bosses "like" Entourage on Facebook, so this format seems to appeal to Finance/high-profile professionals.
Must be Ari.
Agreed. It's a very bro, finance-type
Entourage: Wall Street Edition? (Originally Posted: 03/03/2011)
Even though the vast majority of our readership is nowhere near middle age, there is reason for the Wall Street rank and file to get excited about the newest television program focusing on the over-40 market.
HBO has just announced their intent to pick up to pilot 40, brainchild of Entourage creator Doug Ellin.
I am looking for this show to become a huge hit with Wall Street wannabes and perhaps a cultural phenomenon.
The details are sketchy so far, but the Entourage formula seems present. A foursome of friends with a high profile leader and some cartoon character cohorts livening up the atmosphere...Then again, maybe its just becomes Sex and the City from the guy's POV.
Edward Burns will play the lead, a former Bear Stearns BSD who has been out of work for almost a year after growing quite accustomed to raking in millions. The quartet also includes a rich metrosexual guy, a ripped personal trainer and a pasty neurotic married guy.
Ellin had previously worked on a drama about Wall Street hedge fund managers, but the project never took off. Keeping this in mind, there's no guarantee that 40 will even make it to Sunday night screens.
It would, however, be fascinating for the public at large (not to mention many an aspiring monkey) to get a peek behind the curtain.
Not that I expect too many HBO temps to be lurking in our midst, but I am sure they would kill to know what you guys would like to see in terms of content...
So here's your chance to be an amateur producer for a day... I know some of you are dreaming about that world while you inhale macchiatos in your cubicle.
I'm curious who you would cast as the aforementioned roles and what kind of story lines would you dream up?
Give it your best road show try.
Hard to think of a Wall Street related show featuring a goofy palm dripper and not think of Philip Seymour Hoffman in 25th Hour...
How about Adrien Grenier switching to sidekick as the rich metrosexual guy?
Maybe some retired WWE guy as the personal trainer?
Imagine Dwayne Johnson a.k.a. The Rock?
Bottom line, it's highly unlikely we'll ever see a big time TV program focused on monkeys...
So this may be as close as we get to having our official Wall Street show.
Are you buying it as an idea?
Would you tune in?
Is Burns really what you see in your head when you picture a canned Bear Stearns guy?
Speaking of Entourage spin-offs, anyone ever see How to Make it in America? I've been trying to find it (haven't tried torrenting it yet but I'd say its more along the lines of something you'd like to plug (Entourage meets entrepreneurship)
I suspect the same thing would happen with a show about a bunch of 40 year-olds.
Voila... decent show I suppose.
http://watchseries.eu/serie/how_to_make_it_in_america
I watched the first season and it really fell off after the first 2 episodes. Obviously this is my opinion, but the story lines were not very interesting or creative.
I love "How to Make It"... Everything about it is gritty, raw, and real. Always wanted to see a show about what it must be like for the guys hustlin tryin to make it in Manhattan... The ones repping the Lower East instead of FiDi, and rocking Air Force Ones and skinny jeans instead of Ferragamos and T&A french cuffs. Overall the show is awesome... Well worth torrenting...
I think I'm going to echo Edmundo's opinion in the other thread that no one's interested in watching a show about a bunch of 40-year olds.
Wow, these guys are horrendous at putting together a show with a captivating dynamic of core characters.
Should be 2-3 BSD banker/trader types, and a mix of non-traditional wall street guy friends... i.e. maybe a model or actor, maybe some sort of art curator (maybe even a Joe Francis type) or something and then another friend who does nothing and just lives off family money.
That way you get a mix of appealing characters... the super smart wall street braniacs, the more interesting business mogul, the pretty boy actor and the living off of daddy's wallet kid. Throw a modest character in as well, maybe a school teacher.
Grew up together, although their lives all went in separate directions they're still the best of friends and live an incredible lifestyle.
Trader gets ensnared in an insider trading scandal, actor/model is on the brink of relevancy, banker is fighting to earn his keep at work, teacher is struggling financially (but in true TV fashion still lives in a SoHo loft and wears designer clothes)... rich kid is dying to actually do something with his life and live up to his family's expectations while navigating his dysfunctional family etc...
I don't know why they always fuck stuff like this up. Look at what they did to Wall Street 2.
+1
If I was the producer for this show I would do the following:
1) take all my papers related to this and any computer hard drives and throw them into a fire
2) punch myself repeatedly in the face until I forget the show was ever an idea of mine.
wall street already had its own official show, called Wall Street Warriors...oh wait
All kinds of FAIL. Here's what you have to look forward to in a show about 40-year olds:
Yumm
I know it was tongue-in-cheek, but I actually like the premise behind LSO's Murray Hill sitcom. I'm too lazy to link it, but I'm sure most people on here are familiar with it.
Eddie that was fking hilarious hahahahaha
Two and a Half men is a show about 40 year olds and its doing quite well. Some would even say the cancelation will cost CBS 250 mil so hey you never know...
Should be interesting to see.
On an off topic note, I can't really picture Adrien Grenier in any other role besides Vince. I love Entourage and he fits the role so well, that I can't really picture him in any other role. He's just not A-list actor material.
I agree with Marcus whole-heartedly and would watch the shit out of his show... Marcus here's my go if I were to cast it:
Bradley Cooper as a BSD trader on a prop desk (love the insider trading idea)... Ladies would love him for eye candy, but he is believable as a BSD. He has an intense personality, and if he went the Wall Street route he would certainly be a trader.
Hayden Christensen as the pretty boy actor on the cusp... I think he has the "I'm a semi-narcissistic, but inwardly determined to shed my outward douchbaggedness" character type in his repertoire.
Josh Duhammel as a VP in M&A. He has the charisma to pull off your stereotypical rainmaker. He schmoozes on Las Vegas, but we could see a grittier, unfiltered honesty in his interpersonal relationships with his group.
Jonathan Rhys Myers as another banker. Could pull off the London expat who flocked to Manhattan after bonus comp was curbed across pond (he's phenomenal in Tudors).
Justin Long as an Analyst because he plays the "sarcastic yet submissive misanthrope" perfectly... I can just see him mouthing expletives under his breath as his MD asks him for a full book turn via bb just as he's about to leave the office to hopefully have sex with his girlfriend for the first time in two weeks.
Scarlet Johansen as an Associate, and potential sexual harrassment liability. She's brilliant in almost everything she touches so I think she would be a great fit.
James Franco as the trust funder who just clubs, nails models in the coat room of black tie benefits held in his father's honor, and is searching for that little piece of meaning to give his life a purpose.
Eliza Dushku as the starving artist with ferocious sex appeal trying to find herself a finance guy.
Chris McDonnell as the ethically-minded teacher, trying desperately to mold Harlem's youth and make a difference.
... I'd watch that.
That sounds sick. Like "New York, I love you" but less gay and with more money. Hell of an ensemble cast.
Eddie, I'm still laughing at that video you posted.
The rippin' and the tearin'
rufio,
Sounds like you've got a screenplay in the works. I'd watch it.
I would depict Wall street lifestyle as unattractive as possible to limit to the increase in competition for us prospective monkeys once we finish uni. -.-
rufio, great list.
Agree with Bradley Cooper being the perfect BSD type, it clearly comes out in his new role in "Limitless"
For me... after seeing WS2, Josh Brolin plays a ridiculously solid role of a C-Level/Dont fuck with me BSD. After "W", No Country for old Men, and even Grindhouse, he can clearly do anything. Perfect, "Boss" material.
Andrew Garifield (Lions for Lambs/Social Network) could play the perfect little analyst wunderkid begging to come under the wing of said Bradley Cooper role
If you wanted Jonathon Rhys Myers as a more central role, add Michael Gambon as the homely fatherly figure trying to keep his son modest.
Holy fuck rufio, please write that and submit it somewhere. Infinitely better than all the drivel we have now.

What'd everyone think of the Entourage finale?
Honestly, Entourage was a great show for the first four seaons, and then it just dragged on through a pile of dog shit for the last four. The finale was so bad that it made an already terrible season just abysmal. In a way, I'm glad its over. Hopefully, the Entourage team's other project, How to Make it in America, takes off when the second season airs this October.
Douche bags the world over are sad today.
lol, but seriously, it was a decent show.
producers should have killed e off 7 seasons ago
The part with Ari after the credits was by far my favorite scene in the entire show
Oh you mean the part where Ari's wife turns around with that donk and makes it clap....yea everyone was thinking it.
realllllly hope that How to make it in America doesn't disappoint
show got so bad so quick
The only good part in the finale came after the episode actually ended. I think Ari would have accepted the offer. It was a good show though.. the way it ended was pretty unfortunate
That show was pretty good, but it got awful towards the end. The tacky product placements really disappointed me.
I hope How to Make it in America becomes a good show, even though the first season wasn't exactly spectacular. I would much rather see a show about struggling youths on their journey towards living the life they want, rather than watching a show about an actor and his entourage of half-wits run amok in Hollywood.
funny thing is those "half twits" had better conversations than about 99% of kids my age
Can you sue a company for minutes of your life back? Seasons six to now fell faster than Bear Stearns, seriously. Ari Gold carried this show, and he did so again in the series finale. The only logical move made in the series finale was Ari realizing what he really wanted and going back to his wife. Everything else didn't make sense.
Kind of hope Terrence kills E in the movie for impregnating Sloan.
Yes, I agree Ari Gold carried the show. In fact, the only reason I tolerated Entourage towards the end was to see what Ari would do and say. Hilarious character. I hope they make an Ari Gold spin-off.
And what about Ari's wife's ass in the end??? Damn, all that jelly and no toast.
BTW, make sure to check out this video about Entourage:

Also, for the record, HBO has a policy against product placement.

I stand corrected.
Still, it bothers me that they used the show to promote awareness to certain brands, no matter how well they integrated it into the plot.
+1 on Ari. I hope the movie just revolves around him taking the ceo position :-p
Ari could've been helluva banker
Mrs. Ari FTMFW.
soooo hot, want to touch her heiny.
I wish Ari ended up with Dana Gordon actually. They fit better personality-wise and they both have a similar busy lifestyle and understand that their work is important to them. Also, she was just cooler and not bitchy.
For Ari to drop everything (re: his job) for his family is extremely OOC. Frankly, I never cared for the Missus Ari... she wanted his time, but didn't seem to mind when his riches from his hard work was paying the bills, paying for her lifestyle, paying for the house and the kids' private school fees. She's right to demand more time from him, but not to expect him to drop everything. All his bravado aside, Ari was probably one of the few guys on the show that played it straight with his wife/gf/etc.
And seriously... the "smart female reporter" that was so resistant to Vince's playboy charms was suddenly smitten with him after a 24-hr date? They expect us to swallow this crap they feed us?
Yeah and to the above poster that said the irony of Vinnie's actor being the least interesting to watch, agreed. Never cared for that character (it's all about Ari and Drama as likable characters go).
Lastly - would like to see an eps of Johnny's Bananas... it didn't look all that funny from the few tidbits we're given, but it'd be interesting to see nonetheless.
Whats with shows and terrible endings? The first three seasons were great but the last 5 have been awful. Two different shows, completely bought into their own hype.
Been meaning to check out How to make it in America..heard good things.
I feel like Entourage and Weeds both suffered from the same problems. They started off great, but then really really started to suck. Once the characters had settled into their roles and the starting main plot line had wrapped up, bros go to Hollywood/Soccer mom sells weed, it became harder and harder to find new things for them to do while still keeping their original appeal. Piven totally carried the show and if not for him nailing Ari's character the thing would have been canned years ago.
Lastly did anyone else find it ironic that Vince(don't care what his real name is) is probably the worst actor on the show but hes suppose to be playing a movie star?
90% of Entourage faults lied with E the 2 ft. little bitch. His little melo-drama's drove the shittiness of the show. Also Vince's up and shit was pretty wack as well. Hopefully E will pop up on next seasons True Blood trying to pitch to the newly esacped Rusell Eddington to reprsent him as a manager and Rusell rips his eyes out of his head via his chest cavity. That'd be nice.
If there ever was a latent homosexual sanctuary it was this bros-are-the-hoes-fest. Often felt like I was watching Sex and the City Minus the Titty. Still, when Piven pimp slapped the shit out of that fool for posting soft cores of his wifey online it made it slightly less organic fruit stand.
The series should have ended on the sixth season finale. That episode ended on the best note: Ari acquiring the new agency (fixing up issues with Lloyd and firing Davies), E proposing to Sloan, and Vince's career back on track.
Yeah - if I recall correctly, the 6th season was a mixed bag, but that finale was top notch! And then we had the horrible 7th season where after 7 years they decided to try and add some dimension to the Vince character and make us care about him and his fall from grace. Too little too late.
Really, the series finale felt like something out of Sex and the City... or it pretty much was - their series finale also ended with a trip to Paris and everyone getting a happy ending.
Sorry. I love Dana Gordon's character, but she's got nothing on this (NSFW):

Haha, thanks for the warning tag Eddie, I'll check after work.
Well to clarify - I'm a girl, so I guess I'm taking looks somewhat out of the equation. But yeah, looks-wise Reeves > Zimmer, but I was just talking personality. Mrs. Ari has always come off a bit annoying and whiny for me. There's nothing about that character for me to really care about (and sadly, much of this is the same for Vince too).

Amazing. Thankfully the finale reminded us how nice her ass was.
Fuck E. He's been a bitch throughout the whole damn show.
I actually liked E in the first few seasons because he was the guy who always had his eye on the ball and knew what the fuck was going on...He was Vince's consigliere. Only in the last few season has E become an annoying bitch.
Ahh....the memories

Cannot find a not-broken link of season finale
awesome video gekko
The show definately went downhill a bit, but it was still pretty good, the last season was really short so I dont think they could jump into a lot of different things even though Ari`s wife problems was a decent plot line, but the previous season was my favourite with Vince all strung out, and before that the season where they go broke was pretty good too. I think Ari is one of the best tv characters of all time in this order
Jack Abbot (y&r) Tony Soprano Ari Gold Kenny Powers
Dude you're missing Ross Geller.
:p
i'll miss you Ari Gold
I know we're all commemorating the end of Entourage here, but if you haven't seen the latest preview for Season 2 of "How To Make It In America", I highly recommend you check it out.
http://www.youtube.com/embed/y7vPfmiDLpI
It got me excited for the upcoming season.
Plus, I gotta spread the love as a friend of mine and Penn State Grad is in the video. You can see her starting at 22 seconds. She's the Break Dancing girl in the pink tank top and is shown throughout the video... I gotta be honest, it's always fun seeing when friends do something completely and totally awesome like this. Plus it's got Mark Wahlberg, Kid Cudi, Bryan Greenberg, Lake Bell, Victor Rasuk, Duck Sauce, Q-Tip, Pharrell Williams, Asher Roth, Pusha T, Rahzel, Nicole LaLiberte and few others in the video.
Nice Frieds, I literally just re-watched season 1 today. Here are the other promos so far:
EDIT: If you go to the "How To Make It In America" Facebook page, there's also a pretty cool mixtape you can download for free.

NR, thanks. I shared that trailer more 'cause my friend is in it and less 'cause I wanted to see How to Make it in America, BUT after seeing that trailer, I plan to re-watch the first season this weekend (Hurray 4 days of time thanks to Rosh Hashana this week). On the upside, the trailer has a hell of a catchy beat - God Damned Duck Sauce!
Yeah, personally after this I think Luis Guzman is gonna be the new club track as opposed to Barbara Streisand.
Finally - Entourage! (Originally Posted: 12/24/2014)

I'm over this... Entourage was sweet and all, but it's been 3+ years since the last episode and 4+ years since the last GOOD episode.
I was skeptical about hype and what a movie would look like, so far the trailer didn't disappoint.
4+ is an understatement
love it
Nice. I'm excited. I didn't watch it during its original run and only bing watched it a few months ago.
Fucking sick - excited as well. Did you see the latest "24" ?
Can't wait!! More Ari Gold is always a good thing.
Ever think about bringing a paintball gun to work like Ari? I imagine PE guys do that all the time, probably why no one will let me buy their company :-)
Brings back memories of college, I can't wait
I had no idea even a movie was coming out. Looks bad ass.
It's gonna suck.
Stop being a negative sob, is there anything you actually do like?
I hope this doesn't go the way of Dr. Dre's new album
It's in post right now, something pretty big would have to happen for it to somehow not get released.
/waiting for feminist terrorist organization to demand it be canned
Honestly as a movie it doesn't look THAT great from the trailer alone but I loved Entourage so I'll mostly likely give it a watch
the boys are back in town
Looks awesome. Does anyone know if it's set before or after the Entourage finale?
I'd say after. Ari's not only a studio head but the head of GE (or whatever).
Definility seeing it. Looks baller.
Nostalgia. Looks like Ari took the offer. Obvious choice.
Sloan.
Been waiting for this for a while...was worried about if it would live up to the hype, but everyone involved seems excited and the trailer looks great.

I think I'd go w/ E... at least when he was going out w/ Sloane at least anyways

"You are a gut maggot with no guts"
To me, E is the biggest, most useless tool on the show. No idea what he was thinking when he broke up with sloan
Bros before hoes.
I think it is obvious people would want to be ari (a hardass) or vince (100's of women flocking to you while you chill and bring in millions of $$)
Does anyone have it better than Vince?
Anyone that has conversations about who they would want to be on entourage.
BSD-hilarious
its such a joke the chicks E gets on the show between sloane and the perfect 10 model
drama is the best character on the show by far though (ari was incredible in earlier seasons but has gone downhill a bit)
Or are we talking regulars here? I'd take Saget over everyone... but since I'm gonna ssume it's regulars only... then Piven. Hands down, the only reason why I watch that show... plus I've actually been in the Ari Gold position of being on a blackberry during high holiday services regarding work. Multiple trips to the can can only work on so many holidays...
Iambateman is right. Ari used to be the best part of the show, always drilling into people and just overall being a complete asshole. Now he seems to be kind of a push over. Drama, however, is and always was funny and one of the most entertaining parts of the show.
I was glad to see Sloane go. The show started going down hill when E got into the relationship and they started focusing on it. As a guy, I started watching that show because it was about a bunch of guys going out living the single life to the fullest, not having any of that relationship drama. But then Sloane showed up and the show because all about romance and not about being players. So, even though she was totally hot, good riddance Sloane.
You guys are retarded! Ari is by far the best person to watch, but would you really want to be that guy? It's just be work work work work... I'm sure that would get old fast. Who wouldn't want to be Vince!? Guy's got it MADE.
Either that or Drama, who's set for life too =P. Not sure how I'd feel about having to deal with being constantly inadequate though...
Bob Saget would be great too, he's got it made as well!
seth green. he blasted sloane "like a jackson pollock"

If guest stars are included...
why not Chuck Liddell?
Yea Vinny Chase gets all the girls... but one wrong turn in LA and he'll get his skinny self whooped in a heartbeat
Billy Walsh is the shit. no fuckin shame ever
From a girls point of view a part of me would only want to date Ari and another part of me would want to date E....I personally don't find Vince all that hot - don't get me wrong he is good looking but I find him kinda blah .... I find Drama and Lloyd the most entertaining

Entourage : Wallstreet 2 Excessive Plug! (Originally Posted: 09/13/2010)
Did anyone watch Entourage last night, didn't the Wallstreet plugs seem excessive! I mean Mark Cuban said regarding the Avión deal "If you screw me Turtle, I'm gonna make Gordon Gekko look like Mary fucking poppins". I guess their just trying to focus on the same target market but they mentioned Wallstreet like 3 or 4 times during last nights episode. I guest the production company is just trying to get the hype up before the movies release.
Comments?
I saw it last night and noticed the same thing, not sure if it was merely a coincidence or if they were actually trying to "plug" Wallstreet 2.
Pretty good season finale, though.
Didn't see it, but the show is just a plug for tons of other shit. Why do you think that Sasha grey is on? Or Avion? http://tequilaavion.com/
Even the fucking NFL. The show was cool the first few seasons when it was about the movie business. Now its just a litany of product placements for the target demographic. The show is Sex and the City for guys
They are marketing WS2 HEAVILY. I got to watch football all weekend, and there was a trailer for it every commercial break. They're going to lose a lot of money from all of this advertising.
NO WAY! I cant believe Avion is real! That's just too messed up I mean I don't mind a couple of plugs here and there, but Avion is right there in the story line. Hahaha I cant believe I missed that.
