EB Rankings

1. CVP/EVR M&A/PJT RSSG/Q

2. PJT M&A/EVR RX/LAZ/MOE (not sure whether to divide LA vs NY (which is not in the same tier))

3. PWP/GHL/GUGG

4. RAINE/LIONTREE/ALLEN (hard to rank these as they are way too specialized. On the other hand, they take so few kids that they can be selective even though not everyone is targeting them).

Also, would JEFF be considered an EB? They are pretty much a BB by now, judging by their deals and capital markets activity.

* Seriously not trying to troll, the above ranking is simply based on desirability of students at our target

Again these lists... so meaningless but surprisingly this one is okayish.

Jefferies is a tough beast to rank for sure... They are not an EB, not because they don't do big deals (they do, probably more than firms like MOE/PWP/GHL/GUGG) but because they've pretty much become a deal execution junkie type firm that takes on every deal. On the other hand, don't see any reason why they shouldn't be a BB (maybe due to lack of proper financing capabilities?)

Jeff is a decent bank but it’s not an EB. Their model is just so different. But again, they are an awesome firm (ignoring the culture issues with some groups)

EVR RX is definitely in T1. PJT RSSG dominates the space but the closest to them is EVR. If we are putting rx and M&a together as well, EVR RX is well above those firms listed in t2

Agreed, PJT RSSG has been dominating for longer fs but I would say EVR RX has been killing it recently and would definitely place it above the other T2 firms

lol since when did people group PWP with GHL and GUGG?

Literally comparable deal flow to PJT M&A and similar in league tables to Moelis. Had one of the highest pays within banking... would bump a tier..

lol rankings are so bullshit.

doesnt it depend on whether you like rx or not? Its a niche field and ik ppl who work at LAZ who deliberately stayed away from rx during ft group placements even though it is LAZ's best group.

It is getting seriously embarrassing... No one cares about rankings / tiers once you hit the desk full time. Literally all of these firms are great and will get you to most places, including to buyside firms (MM/UMM) with a slight variation in MF outcomes if you are a true hardo who wants to prove a point
