Few Contacts in New Location -- How to Network for FT?

Posting from a throwaway account. Coming from a top school and tried to get NY banking for SA but didn't. I was very fortunate to get a great lower bank on the West Coast. All my contacts and networking was done for NY however, so I barely have any West Coast contacts.

Planning on killing it for my SA on the West Coast, and I think I want to stick around for FT. I want to try my hand at West Coast FT recruiting however, but since I don't have many contacts out here, does anyone have any advice on how to proceed? Is it possible to network with entirely new people over the summer on the West Coast?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, everyone!

The most important part to ensure you convert your SA into a FT is to be know at your bank. Try to have lunch/coffee with everyone from your team and other people you have worked with, even a guy from MO/BO demonstrate that you value anyone and thank them for what they do for you (advising against dating the HR obvs). If you do this, you should know pretty much you whole floor and know as well. This should be enough to convert if you don't screw anything up. You can have additional meals/coffees with people you had common interest/liked to get closer with them.

If you get a return offer you should be absolutely fine with a 3.7

Easiest starting point would just be to reach out to alum who are based on the west coast. Given your description, sounds like there should be a good number to start with. Plus, I think they tend to be more supportive the farther away you are geographically from college
