Controversial

Not average white man. Every high performing man hates DEI. These high performing men 90% of the time happen to be white / Asian / Brown. DEI and its supporters can rot in h*ll. Free loaders!

DEI is over, they cut almost every program so if you still have a problem that is on you because yes you are average. Also, why would minorities hate the very programs that allowed them to have that seat at the table? I'm sure the asian, black (also love how you didn't say black) and brown people hate to see more representation and want more white men, yes they do!

At the top of the ladder, very true. Senior leadership is overwhelmingly composed of white males. If you take a look at intern/graduate hiring, the picture becomes starkly different. Many people ignore the generational differences when assessing DEI. Not to mention that it's practically useless to begin with. If you actually want to put women in leadership positions, the solution is to support them through motherhood and ease their share of domestic labor. Having children is virtually the sole cause of the gender pay gap, according to the Economist. Funneling more and more of them into junior roles where they'll eventually face the same family vs career choice as their seniors is pointless. And if you want minorities/underprivileged people entering the industry, then shift your DEI criteria to socioeconomic status instead of race. But of course that'll never happen because DEI is fundamentally about appearances and not substance.

Well stats don’t show that. White people form majority across all levels and remain far more over-represented.

DEI did penalize men but it was only Asian / Brown / Arabs. Whenever, a white man is penalized it is to favor a white woman otherwise they are only overlooked when they are incompetent.

DEI garbage we all dealt with was brainchild of white men in power. If you are pissed then go blame your old man for prioritizing white women over you.

All these points are backed by JPM DEI report

F*ck DEI, both its creators and its current facilitators.

1000%. Ha, should:

1) make a spreadsheet of the HR ones and file a class action

2) spreadsheet of the blatantly useless ones getting promoted fast and shame them. Maybe could partially level the amount of stress and damage they've caused to corporate america. Fucking disgusting last ~10 years, disgusting

3) spreadsheet of MD's blatantly fucking over people to hit their DEI hiring bonuses. Shameless sewer rats

People have to understand that the biggest beneficiaries of DEI are white women from privileged backgrounds (plus Asian women who are either from ultra privileged backgrounds or married white men with high social status, but they are much smaller in number) If you care to do some research you’d find that the charters banks signed or laws passed regarding DEI or targets set by the banks, all primarily focuses on gender, if not solely on gender. Lumping race and gender together is misleading.

Another thing is, I don’t know any firms that have set targets or quotas for LGBTQ people and I don’t know any countries that has obligations for big corporations to advance LGBTQ people, these benefits are only for women, but for some reasons LGBTQ people attract the most hate.

Removing DEI from board selection is a bold step. I wonder if this reflects a change in internal strategy or is more about optics and regulatory considerations. Could signal broader industry trends if other banks follow.

Here is some DEI discussion

https://www.wallstreetoasis.com/forum/investment-banking/white-women-dont-deserve-dei-boost

The audacity of white women after being prime DEI Beckies for well over a decade.

Never let a woman in Finance tell you she isn’t a DEI Beckie. By virtue of gender, she benefits from special treatment from hiring to promotions. No matter how much they pretend they don’t need it, behind closed doors they actively lobby for it and play victim all the time.

If you want this DEI snake dead, you need to eliminate Gender DEI as a priority.

43% of workforce identifies as white yet ~80%+ of people in corridors of power: operating committee, BoD, and senior employees (VP+) are all white. Internship / campus stats are data points for a particular year only while the stats I quoted reflect holistic picture.

White people dominate across the ranks while white men are being excluded. So who do you think is getting all that gravy. White Beckies!

JPM and other big banks, financial firms sign charters and face pressure from governments and certain institutional investors from the US (not under the Trump administration but when Democrats were in power), the UK and Europe to promote DEI. The US care about race, the UK kind of care about race, Europe only care about gender. For senior bankers, the best way to achieve “diversity, equity and inclusion”, is to promote white women from privileged backgrounds and Asian women from ultra privileged backgrounds (e.g, check the family background of Credit Suisse CN CEO, she is considered an oppressed, disadvantage little woman according to DEI Lol)

A lot of bitching and crying by femcels today on LinkedIn over GS’ decision. Now you know all of them are DEI Beckies, right from 22yr old to 60yr old grandma in C-suite. They hate men and pitch white men vs. PoC men while women continue to freeload.

to be brutally honest, I've seen a lot of people of a particular race that abused this power over the past few years and believe it or not, some of them go to an Ivy league school who end up applying for IB SAs. Eventually, they end up getting the role but then when you hear their interview stories. The interviewer was apparently super nice to them and even if they messed up a simple question like "Walk me from Revenue to FCF" or even a question like "Walk me through a DCF" they still get the upperhand over people who are from non-targets answering questions right like options pricing in an IB interview.

so yes. fuck DEI.

also women. can yall stop bitching and actually pick up the work efforts/ethics. Stop making excuses in the workplace. Get the fuck up and do the work like the rest of us do, you get paid the same for a reason.

No hate, but dead serious this needs to be fucking changed.

It makes no sense that someone's skin color or gender would be a factor in determining who should lead a company, whether that's on the board or management.

It probably makes no sense at any level, but I can allow a tiny bit of debate as to whether racial & gender diversity is maybe helpful at the lower levels where there's lots of people you're trying to build a class where everyone feels welcome.

I still think it's probably a worthless consideration even at the lower level, but certainly worthless above that level.

There might be some merit to racial DEI due to socioeconomics. However, gender DEI had no merit to begin especially after white women started absorbing 90%+ of DEI seats because then that begs the question why exclude Asian / Brown men from DEI streams. Obviously you can’t include white men because they are in majority.

Even now all the hate is reserved for Black / Hispanics yet JPM DEI reports clearly shows that majority of DEI seats go to white women and that white people are over-represented across all levels ie 50% population vs. 80% representation across all board.

DEI has turned into horseshit because white men in power have a soft spot for white women and can’t hold them accountable.

Long live Donald J. Trump! My spiritual grandpa; nightmare for every feminist on this earth.

I got a coffee chat request from a Latinx member the other day and he deadass wrote "latino reaching out for DEI program initiatives request"... like bro im an intern and im not even DEI.. im fricking white.
