Help with unbalanced model
Just created a 3 statement models with a debt schedule, but my check is off. I have checked all of the cash flow statement line items, and the change in cash seems to be correct, so I believe there is a mistake within the debt schedule or change in ppe which I may not be recognizing. If anyone has advice or can take a look it would be greatly appreciated.
Your balance sheet and cash flow statement should be one and the same. You have not checked all of the cash flow statement items against the balance sheet, or you would not be asking this question. Take the Period 2 Balance Sheet and subtract the Period 1 Balance Sheet from it. Every single one of those figures from the CFS should be pulling into the balance sheet. Flex the assumptions on every figure until you find what is jacking up the check calc.
I checked this and I’m pretty sure that all the changes are reflected in the cfs that are on the balance sheet. Each year when I take the difference also does add up, I’m thinking the mistake may be in the debt pay down but I am not sure where to go from there.
Post the link to the model.
I would prefer not to post a link due to anonymity reasons, but if you could pm me I would be thankful for the help. Have been looking at the model all day and just can’t find the error
