Hey all,

I was wondering if you guys can add some color to this video interview through hirevue? I haven't done a video interview and I would like to know how you all prepared for it.

If you guys done the video interview through BlackRock-any advice would help!

If this is for the Virtual Cover Letter through Hirevue, then you'll be fine without preparation. If anything, I'd open your Photo Booth app and film yourself talking for a few minutes to get used to staring at your computer camera (to simulate eye contact, not a joke, most Hirevue interview introductions will ask you to do this) and not feel too weird about it even though you are sitting in a room by yourself, dressed in a suit, and talking to yourself. I always found that to be the worst part of a Hirevue.

Do you know what questions they do? I mean how much time you have, how many questions, and if you remember what questions they do exactly.

Thank you for your help, good luck for your interview!

for the BlackRock "virtual cover letters" they give you 2 questions, 5 minutes to prepare, and only one chance to record

Anyone know what the BlackRock recruiting timeline is? I submitted this at the end of July and still no response.

did you not receive virtual cover letter request after submission?

I finished the virtual cover letter in July and still haven't heard anything, I'm guessing it's a rejection

bump, also curious of the BlackRock timeline

in the UK, i think the deadline is 12/11/2017

2 questions. 5 minutes preparation for each. Behavioral/fit.

Does anyone got the exact questions???

Anyone heard back from BlackRock yet? Haven't heard back since the Virtual Cover Letter.

Hi, when did you submit your cover letter? Or when was the deadline to submit the virtual cover letter? Thanks.

Same, submitted hirevue months ago but nothing yet. Met HR at OCR event, said won't look at the applications until the deadline. Also, heard that they take very few interns in some divisons.

I did the virtual cover letter like 2 weeks ago and received a follow-up a week later for a video interview. I did the interview last Friday but have not heard back from them. This is for FMA btw.

Hi I got an additional video interview. It says it's different from the first round question type. What kind of question they asked? Tech or behavior? Thanks!

I applied for a different group, but each of my steps in the process were about a week apart. I applied at the end of September, got a first round interview a week later, got an invite to superday a week after that, and had my superday interview the next week. But the other people at my superday all had totally different timelines, so it really just depends!

Got rejected by FMA. Had an interview with Client Solutions today. Has anyone heard back wrt next steps

Was the interview with Client Solutions with HR? Or was it more technical with individuals from the department?

Were your interviews with FMA and client solutions for FT or summer?

Completed the HireVue and the questions were the same for both positions I applied for.

  1. Why BR and why that division?
  2. How does BR differ from other firms?

You get 5 minutes to prepare for each and then a 1.5 minutes to answer each question.

Did the virtual cover letter back in July, and now i have a "live virtual 30 min interview" (via Hirevue AND phone?? not sure why it's not just through skype...) for Relationship Management & Sales. Interview is for princeton but I applied for new york

It's like a Skype interview. At least thats what mine was

Would you mind telling what kind of questions were asked or what area it focused on? Was it competency or technical?

I also applied + got an offer for relationship management and it was pretty much all behavioral, but kinda tough ones

Did the Hirevue back in late August, but still haven't heard back from them yet.

I just received a 30-minute interview invite from BlackRock. The position is Trading & Liquidity Strategies in New York. Can anyone who has done the interview share what kind of questions that I should be prepared for? Thanks a lot in advance.

Hey, I received an invite for the sme position. It's in london though. Have you already done your interview??

Yes. I did it a few days ago and got invited to New York for final round next week.

oh wow, congratulations!
Would you mind sharing how the interview was? Was it more technical or competency?
I could give you my email address if you prefer to talk in private. I just recently joined and they won't let me PM on here.

Would you mind PMing me your email address? I can't reply since I am new.
This is my first interview and I am a bit nervous.

Could you give me your email address instead?

They won't even let me post my email here because I am new. omg

Can you now share some questions you had during the video interview? Otherwise I can send you an email :)

Hey just curious, are you guys interviewing for full time new grad or summer?

Do anyone have any insight on how to answer the question: "Why BlackRock?" in a credible manner. I am just trying to pinpoint the innovation and technology aspect but it feels so forced as the time won't allow for any details.

Has anyone had the first round? I have been selected for trading SA. Have 2x30 min interview in one week

Anyone hear back from Investments SA?

Just got an email today stating that they're still reviewing my application, so I guess it's not a rejection yet. did the virtual cover letter in early october if I recall

Got that email too. Not sure if that's a good sign for us, or if we are basically just being strung along until they start sending out rejections
