US YTD League Tables
As per requested in a comment on an earlier post, below is a pic of YTD 2023 U.S. M&A league tables. Of course, the post should come with the usual disclaimers that league tables should be taken with a grain of salt for a variety of reasons.

But I thought Mid West Partners was #1? *
* analysis only includes closed or effective transactions greater than $1 million in value, but excludes transactions greater than $1.1 million in value, and includes only transactions within the horse breeding sector with a CEO named "Bubba" located in Junction City, Kansas.

What's the cause behind this? Seems they are still hiring seniors aggressively despite the lack of deals
.
It was the logo change

RE: All of the Evercore and PJT hype beasts
For real lol
.
Wow didn’t realize JPM had moved up so much… always thought of that as far behind GS/MS but think they’ve at least blown past MS. Still wouldn’t put them ahead of GS tho
Anyone got industrial

Go RBC
RBC, Guggenheim, Lazard all stood out to me as being higher than expected. I would not be surprised if they fall a bit later in the year but we will see.
Anyone got FIG league Tables?
US C&R League Tables?
Ya’ll monkeys are misinterpreting the league table. Evercore is the top bank above all EB/BB/MBB/B4. If Evercore is 15th in the League Tables that means by definition 15th place is the best spot and all nearby banks are among the best.
BRB rescinding my Gug offer to join a YTD top bank (think EVR, BMO, CS).
Anyone have ficc/equities league tables? Thanks!
BMO getting carried by its metals and mining team.
BMO Metals & Mining 🔛 🔝💯🔥
What’s been up with Barclays lately?
Would be more helpful if there was a "lead advisor only" table
Thanks for this, where is it pulled from?
It looks like it's from Eikon (Refinitiv) - I could be wrong though.
Think I could get a TMT league table? Thanks!
e: Above pic has 1~10, but would like to see a table with more banks like 1~20.
the pfizer seagen deal doing well for Gugg
.
They will try but given Lina Khan's track record I doubt they'll succeed.
rip to all banks who couldnt top CS even with 2 months advantage
As an Aussie it's beyond hilarious to see Gresham on the US league tables at all, let alone within shouting distance of UBS and EVR.
I assume they had one big deal that pushed them up the rankings?
Yes - Newcrest/Newmont.
They were on Newcrest
Anyone have Healthcare tables?
Bump
"Any US involvement Announced Financial"
most of these banks are propped up by being one of 10 on a massive deal like SeaGen
these tables are pretty much useless
I mean really just Gugg and MTS as the huge outliers
Guggenheim was the exclusive financial advisor to Pfizer on that deal.
"Pfizer’s financial advisor for the transaction is Guggenheim Securities, LLC, with Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz acting as Pfizer’s legal advisor. Centerview Partners LLC is serving as Seagen’s financial advisor and provided a fairness opinion to Seagen’s Board of Directors with Sullivan & Cromwell LLP serving as its legal advisor. MTS Health Partners also provided financial advice to Seagen."
seems like gugg and cvp are the main financial advisors
What happened to PJT/EVR? Is god dead?
PJT M&A, while with no doubt good, has always had its reputation inflated by PJT RSSG's brand on WSO.
CVP crushing it
Have never heard of them.
Does anyone have the REIB league table?
There’s literally been 3 deals this year and LSI is the only one that anyone cares about.
RE M&A is dead
Congrats on BofA
anyone have legal for PE or M&A?
US M&A Legal.
WLRK dethroned with the drop in large-cap M&A activity.
Kirkland with the volume.
Which law firms are generally seen as the GS/MS equivalent?
This is not looking good what the fuck
Anyone have industrials tables?
Anyone have REGAL tables??
Will BofA be able to get to the top 3's level ever? (Consistently)
Needs to figure out TMT for that to happen.
does anyone have HC tables?
