oneortheotherGoldman Sachs TMT obviously, best group at the most prestigious financial firm. is this even a question lol

hahaha wow how ignorant yet cliche

I know a ton of finance professionals and I don't think a single one would answer that...

And btw, TMT is arguably the best group within IBD at GS, but they are not the best group at GS when you consider more than just IBD

The answer to your question is 1) network 2) get involved 3) beef up your resume 4) repeat -happypantsmcgee WSO is not your personal search function.

I have loved everything I've heard about the culture and people that work for JP Morgan. Honestly, culture/fit is far more important to me than who tops what league table or whatever.

realistically, just an md in pe of a small branch office of a big multinatioanl pe firm where i don't really have the main office breathing down my neck cause they honestly don't give a shit about my region. and i still make bank cause i'm an md.

less realistcally, king of the world. or hugh hefner's job (i'm sure he does some finance work or did some at the very start of starting playboy).

oneortheotheri know i wrote GS TMT before, but after reading this forum I would say it's a tossup between analyst at GS TMT, MS M&A, GS FIG, and Lazard M&A.

Analyst?!?!? Do this job for one month and tell me this is your dream job.

Seriously. I know multiple people in these groups and I can assure you, at least from the shit they have to put up with that they tell me about, it is far from a dream job and they cannot wait to leave.

Good stepping stone/work experience? Undoubtedly. Dream job? You're out of your mind.

Hi, Eric Stratton, rush chairman, damn glad to meet you.

Haha, If there is any job that has more bullshit and longer hours than an IB analyst it is being the President of the US.
