That is way earlier than last year.
I was told things would kick off summer/fall, but this was in January so it could have changed.

My ‘superday’ was over the phone and this morning. I went to an actual event at their office a few weeks ago before everything was switched virtual though.

My buddy works there - late summer/early fall is directly from their HR, he made it seem like it's flexible given the circumstances tho

Likely true. A lot of banks are ramping up diversity hiring to 50% of intern class. As for the purpose? Getting rid of the white male stereotype of IB/ finance in general and giving underrepresented groups opportunities.
Yeah i've seen a lot of push to make analyst classes half female half male which probably explains the 50%
Equality of outcome is not the same as equality of opportunity
Interned at JEF last summer and converted to a FT. The firm is definitely making a push to bump up the number of women in the intern class with the jWIN initiative, however I wouldn't worry about it too much if I were you since it's out of your control. My best advice is to reach out to anyone on linkedin who is an incoming analyst there and make the best impression possible. JEF's analysts are incredibly friendly and will definitely help you out, but you're more likely to get attention from incoming analysts who have free time on their hands. Hope this helps!
I got into the diversity event, which was supposed to be scheduled for March 20, but it ended up getting canceled with Jefferies promising accelerated interviews, but I haven’t heard back. Does anyone know what is happening with regards to this?
Hey, I recently emailed HR regarding this program, I also got accepted and got that email. They essentially told me to wait; they told me that they have made no changes to the recruiting pipeline and that they are currently in the process of rescheduling the symposium.
can confirm that they have opened the application to penn students via handshake (non-diversity)

No, I’ve made it through 2nd round and got really positive feedback.
I know an associate that mentioned he hadn’t heard anything yet regarding super day. I think they are currently trying to figure out if it will be in office or a virtual.

Hey man! How did you get your feedback? Did you ask the associate/analyst who did your 2nd round afterwards? And also just curious when the associate notified you when he said he hasn't heard anything about the superday. This timeline is so hard to gauge

I’m currently interviewing for Jefferies SA 2021 and just finished my 2nd round for the Tech group out of San Fran.
After speaking with one of the associates it looks like the super day will be getting moved to virtual and coming up next week.
How did the 2nd round go and how were the technical questions? Are you from a target or non-target?
Non target, non diversity. Quite a few technicals in the 2nd half of the calls. Had an analyst throw some pretty unconventional questions my way.

Oh really? I remember an analyst mentioned they are trying to wrap it up mid June. I'd honestly be really surprised if it's pushed to mid August but I guess these guys are busy since they're a lean shop. But yeah fingers crossed on the superday

Just heard ER 2021 is all filled up! Is this true? Does this the mean the whole 2021 process is wrapped up or are they still in the process for other teams (IBD, S&T).
FI S&T is working on first round, will be done on 7/2 cant speak to anything else though. If I had to guess IB and ER are much further along in the process.

Had my first round on July 8th (all LevFin NYC guys). I know the program is generalist - I think it just worked out that way because they are all alumni of my school.

Did everyone who got referred get a referral notification. A VP told me he had flagged my resume to HR but never got an official notification.
Similar boat. VP told me he/she was submitting my resume to the recruiting team, didn't get an official notification for that. BUT I did get notifications before I spoke with the VP but after I spoke with some analysts. Hope this helps - seems like VP level flag is not reflected in the system
How do you know the notifications you got were due to referrals from analysts?
a day after I spoke with an analyst, I got the notification. I don't know for sure if it was the analyst, but he was the only one I spoke with so who else?

Where did u guys hear? My contacts have no idea either. In fact, one of them told me that what HR does with recruiting is a complete black box to bankers.
Spoke to recruiter in HR along with MD in mid july. Said that first rounds would be mid-late august with superdays in mid-late september.
Current Analyst just said that they'd be contacting people in a couple weeks. No set timeline by any means right now, and they'll be directly contacting people when they know the timeline is set in stone.

Only the Charlotte Office... I have not heard back from anyone in the NY office or any other locations for a couple weeks.

In terms of diversity timeline for NYC, HR emailed me today to ask if I am still interested to interview after attending their diversity event in April. I already accepted offer but thought I'd throw this in there since no one knows their exact timeline
