Process will start with phone screen interviews in June/July probably super days in august unless the timeline is moved up that's the last I heard

What other banks recruit late?

Core school super day is the 6th. “Write-in” application superday will be after (weeks/month). Diversity is scattered depending on which diversity program one applies to.

I think it is Duke, Penn, Vanderbilt, UC Berkeley, UNC, Wake, others

I was a summer analyst and am now an analyst there. No idea what he's talking about; they've treated us well and spent a good amount of money on out-of-office events like renting out top golf with free food and beer. This dudes just mad they offered him a job in Charlotte so he couldn't live out his Jordan Belfort fantasy (if he even got an offer to begin with, which I seriously doubt)

Non target, offer received in the middle of July last summer. First round was end of June, superday was early July. Can't speak for target schools/ general process, only sharing my experience.

Edit: S&T, not IB. Would assume timelines are roughly the same, maybe 1-2 weeks earlier for IB.

Got the broken link as well. They have network issues and recommended to check again in a few hours. Hoping this means its a first round tho

Could be 100% wrong but it seems prior cycles they where doing SDs well into summer so I would not be worried u got dinged yet.

I believe so, they are on par with HW, Jeffries, and baird/WB imo. they have a top regal group that I know of and were top 15 in league tables last year for m&a I believe. They pay street and have good exits. Heard culture is good too.

oh cool! I wasn't sure whether to accept their offer or let it expire and gun for other banks. but as non-target this makes wells seem dope af. ty

Wells is a great bank if you’re after lifestyle - if you wanna live in Charlotte long term or if you end up in NYC and wanna be a career banker I think it’s hard to beat Wells who pays street, seem to have really good culture in most groups, and don’t seem to work as many crazy hours as many other banks. Although these things may change as the bank grows and tries to put more focus on its IB division - I know TMT, which has historically been extremely weak, was working longer hours in general back when I was looking to lateral there for wlb around 5-6 months ago.

The drawback solely is in terms of exits right now, outside of its strongest group (REGAL) and the odd placement from industrials, WF really doesn’t place at any big name buyside opportunity. Haven’t really seen any WF folks (that didn’t lateral somewhere else) at any reputable MM/UMM fund that I could think of although I’m sure there are some sparse examples. This is likely not going to change in the next 3-5 years given how few sell sides most groups there seem to do, most of what you’ll be doing is financing so it will absolutely limit your exits.

Current 2nd year at Wells in a coverage group - we see some MM / LMM PE exits every year and some kids who stay on A2A. Didn't really get any looks from MF/UMM personally, but got good interviews at shops I was definitely interested in that were smaller but still prestigious. Have an offer at a MM PE shop outside of NYC. I second that lifestyle is better than my friends at JP etc and since I wasn't too gungho on the KKR/Blackstone etc train I'm happy with where I am

I heard from a development officer (they work heavy in recruitment) that they are sending interviews out throughout the week so I wouldn’t count your self out yet.

late response but yeah, 2 development officers, An MD, 2 VPS, 3 analysts, there were all super responsive on emails.

How many NYC offers have been given out? Are they done / when will they be with superdays?

I had a first round earlier this week and still have heard nothing. Am I dinged / is there a chance I still get a SD or should I reallocate my hope elsewhere.

Got an email congratulating me on advancing titled "interview information" but it doesn't say "Final round" on it. The scheduled interview in my workflow is with the same people that did my 1R, however this wasn't in my workflow prior to the email. Is this email a mistake? I am getting the vibe that it is the old update to my application process that HR is just way behind on.

Is WF good enough to be able to FT recruit for top firms (JPM, MS, GS) or to lateral if FT recruiting doesn't work out? lmk if anyone has insight on this. thanks

It is that but some folks, if they have middle names or there’s more than one person with the same name at the firm, will have variations on that like [email protected]

Has anyone received confirmation of the exact time of their superday that will be on Wednesday? I got the confirmation email when I signed up, but have yet to receive the exact time of my superday. Lmk please. Thanks

Did you have a final round with 2 people. I got a finished a second round with SF office last week and email said offers would be extended after that interview but not sure if that was superday or just a second round.

for those who got superday schedule for tmrw, are we supposed to register for our specific room beforehand? or do we just click the join button once it is actually time for the interview tmrw?

bankemployee

I just got an offer for ibd, does anyone know how placement works

Was the superday technical heavy or mostly behaviorals?

First off, congrats! Recommendation as someone who went through the process, whatever team and city you’re gunning for, I recommend networking with that team as soon as possible. Wells historically has a history of shafting people over their placements and teams will usually have a good idea as to who they want early on, especially the better teams that are way more competitive.

hi i was wondering what the most competitive groups at wells are in your opinion?

Did superday yesterday and got call today at around 11/12 for offer S&T. Not accepting tho
