Principal445, pure crickets, that's where I come in. Any of these useful?
More suggestions...
Hope that helps.
I applied and got rejected.
I thought they are accepting all kind of application (Finance/Non Finance) . Did you know why they rejected? Not sure how they judged just on application (assuming you didn't had any interview).
Not sure. Considering how much age-ism there is here on this forum and in the industry, if I were to guess I would say my age (I'm 35).
Sorry to hear that, when did you apply?
ohh, sorry to hear that. when was your status changed in portal?
I have applied. Had a call with the recruiter and waiting to hear if I’m moving to the first round
My Status still shows "In Review" and no recruiter contacted me yet. do you think I should follow-up?
Is this for London? I applied to S&T few weeks ago, had a call with HR recruiter few days after, who then said I would hear back in 2-3 weeks if I progressed to the next stage. Its been over 3 weeks now...hoping I've not been dinged...
No I am pretty sure they won’t notify until the 10th October application end date is gone. Are you coming from a financial background or non-financial?
Yes, for london. Are recruiters calling to everyone? I didn't receive any call yet from them but status shows "in review"
I'm in the same boat, good luck!
what country is this?
UK
Have you heard back yet for hirevue?
Has anybody received the HireVue yet? I heard some are coming through now
not yet man, you just increased anxiety. lol. Let us know if you receive hirevue
nah nothing through for me yet, fingers crossed
Heard where?
from a friend that also applied, they had until Sunday to complete it apparently - hopefully they're sending out on a rolling basis
I applied on Oct 26th.......was told they would be in touch the week of Nov 8th.....I just checked my application and noticed I never did the Hirevue portion! I completed it on Nov 12- 17 days after I initially applied 😅, application still says in review tho!
What is everyone’s background?
Econ undergrad, Audit background - how about you?
Civil Engineer, Licensed professional Engineer in NY State.
Anyone else heard?
what background you from? and whats the status of you application i.e. did you receive HR interview/HireVue yet?
Also had a call with the recruiter, but haven't heard about the hirevue yet
Has anybody tried contacting the recruiter directly regarding the status of HireVue's?
are recruiter's calling everyone? when did you had call?
I had my call with recruiter a few days before the webinar, around 3rd/4th week of Sept
Evening all,
My concern is that it will not be even playing field if questions are tailored to our cv's. I am an army vet, does anyone know whether questions are to explain cv or more about individual statements on cv?
i think more to explain CV rather than about your CV
I had it and I found it less about cv but more competency based questions like most other interviews. Focused too much on my cv and did not really prepare for competency type questions so will have to wait to complete recruiter phone call. I have completed Hirevue and now recruiter call as was rescheduled.
Any news on Hirevues or First round interviews anyone?
I just did my hirevue, 17 days after I applied.
They have started sending out HireVue links. Got mine already.
Nice! May I ask when you received your HireVue link please? Thank you
I got it on friday to be done within 72hrs.
Can anyone share the questions? What questions should we expect? Are they typical fit "why MS why this division" " tell me about the time you worked in a team" etc or S&T related? I was told over the phone that they will match you within the role that best fits your preferences and background (after the phone conversation) but the initial application was for S&T and that what the HireVue title is too. Any idea/advice? thx!
When did you apply for the role and when did you receive the HireVue? From what I know, without giving away the questions as that would be unfair on others, I believe it is more behavioural based rather than technical, so it would be good to know MS values and how you can apply those to your previous experiences that you may have mentioned on your CV.
I think I applied in Sep, had a call with the HR last week and received the invite right after that.
Are you based out of london? just wondering if they are only calling london based applicants.
Yes
What area are people applying for? And what products?
For those who have done the HireVue already (particularly those with a finance background) - were there technical questions?
I've been trying to think what they could possibly ask that would apply to everyone given the technical knowledge required for a structuring role would be rather different to sales, to risk, to research...

Best of luck with your interview! What is your background i.e. degree/professional background if I may ask? Just to see if theres a certain preference they may have. I'm Econ + 3 years audit
Economics & Finance. Buy-side (~ 3 years)
Had call with recruiter but nothing yet. Still says “in review”
Thanks, When did they call you and where you are based?
I'm based in London, and I haven't heard from a recruiter or received a hirevue yet, is anyone else in the same boat?
I'm based in London too - I've heard from the recruiter but not had a HireVue invite just yet.
I just received an email with an update that second round interviews will begin w/c 8th Nov, and that HireVue's are currently under review. No update on whether or not we have made it through the HireVues yet though so I think they may still be sending those out. Anyone else received this email?
I haven’t heard anything since my recruiter call and that was well over a month ago 🙄
can someone suggest me a good resume format?
Just heard back - rejected :( Best of luck all those through to the next round and in your subsequent career choices.
Where did you see this? Did you get an email?
Got an email.
Rejected here as well. Did HR but never received HireVue... just rejection email.
Same bro... its disappointing.
fuck it
Any updates on second round interviews?
Got an invite to the next stage after HireVue (London) best of luck to everyone!
I got an invite for the next stage after Hirevue (London). Good luck to everyone!
You don’t want to work at MS
Can you elaborate please?
Please elaborate, that's a haymaker.
Has anyone heard any updates on the process?
I did the second interview this week. No idea when we would hear back.
2nd interview for Fixed Income or Research? NYC or London?
This is for London. Fixed Income & Equities Division.
I submitted my second HireVue interview last week. No updates yet. Good luck to everyone!
.
Not yet, give it til the end of the week
I heard back today and I will be moving forward in the process.
Well done! In London or NY?
In London.
Nice congratulations
Congrats! If you don't mind me asking, what day did you interview & were you called or emailed to move to the next round?
Hiya, I interviewed on Tuesday last week and was called on Wednesday this week. I'll likely have the final round and HR interviews next week. HR hope to let me know by the w/c 6/12/21 the result, but it could vary.
Just got an email from HR saying they are finalizing the initial review of candidates- "we will be in touch very soon". My application is still "in review".
Just got an email today. Moving on from the hirevue round. Slated for a zoom interview between Dec. 2nd -6th. This is for ER btw
.
Completed final but still awaiting decision.
I have had at least 10, but they want me to meet more senior staff to get understanding of different roles. Been a very pleasant experience so far.
Any US applicants here? I made it to the next round hoping it is the final.
I’ve heard that the process is really only 2 rounds. First round with 2 seniors, then a zoom super day, after which they decide who makes it into the program. But that was last year, things could be different this time around.
Yes think it will be the same this year with next week being the superday based on the timeline. Offers coming out before christmas
US applicant here, I don’t think next round will be the final one unfortunately
I interviewed for the London office. In total, I had more than 10 interviews. HR -> HireVue -> Super day x3 -> HR -> the rest is with different groups. I had a "final" interview last week. It was "final" because Zoom meeting was named the final interview. However, I think it is likely I might have a few more if the ongoing feedback is still positive. It is the longest interview loop I've ever had.
.
Can't wait to see what these salaries will look like. Anyone have any ideas?
