Career center told me to wait; they're in contact with JPM right now trying to get it fixed. I haven't applied (also because I don't want to do a Hirevue rn tbh)

Got the Capital Interview Experts "ultimate analyst prep" and Overlevered so I can comment:

In my opinion both have a solid set of questions but the reason i liked capital interview more is cause:

1. Overlevered is a monthly subscription, Capital Interview is 1-time

2. I could print it out since they sent guides directly to my email vs overlevered I couldn't access the questions if I didn't have my laptop

3. I found the core mastery guide extremely comprehensive like covered every single topic in-depth that they would expect us to know and the interview questions were also more technical (they have sample questions for you to judge) than overlevered

I would recommend getting both and if picking just 1 then Capital Interview fs

Same position as you - think they might’ve stopped reviewing since last night

Application was taken down due to a few technical complications, they’ll be reposted first week of Jan. Wasn’t told anything about the HireVue’s for this time around but the job posting has been deleted.

Heard there was a mistake in the application, something about grad years and 27 not being there (prospects can hopefully confirm or deny this). Would wait till the application stuff is fixed and then apply. It won't matter if you're at a target since our individual schools team will review your apps but could pose a problem if at a non-target (Idk how that screening is done, but assume some more automation there given how many people apply). HV's are supposed to be auto for JPM and go to everyone who is qualified as per robot (so just looks at GPA + grad year basically). If error with HV, please get in touch with your school alums but very possible nothing we can do since your grad year and/or GPA inputs might have eliminated you. We screen off resumes mostly, but we also screen off HV, so we cannot evaluate candidates without HV.

Hope this is helpful, Good luck with the process everyone, and happy New Year (enjoy it while you can; could be forced to work during it once you enter IB)!

Edit: I just want to note that we do in fact still review the HV's and please try to do a great job on it and DON'T MESS UP THE TECHNICAL. I have a few kids that I'd like to move on, but ultimately networking isn't where the road ends and you have to make sure the resume and HV is strong. I just wanted to edit this in to make sure nobody is misled by me saying we screen mostly off resumes; everything matters and if you're at a target and non-diversity the competition is very fierce and frankly unless you are an absolute top candidate everyone loves and/or has connections (there are a few every year for both) there are people looking to ding you at every stop to get the kid they want in.

So if you’re a non-target and submitted the application that was posted yesterday (graduate December ‘26 so the lack of 2027 option was not an issue for me) AND received a HireVue invitation, do you need to withdraw application and resubmit the new one ?

I’m confused as my candidate portal says “Under Review” still even tho application is now removed from careers site.

Would contact HR. No idea what the non-target process looks like sadly. I took an educated guess above as to how it works, but since this is a more specific question don't want to answer without being 100% sure so as to make sure I am not misleading candidates. Good luck!

Yes this is true, but just like everything else is nuanced. JPM has adopted a more "merit-based" system where the final say comes down to HR whereas in other banks the recruiting team at each target has full-say. However, there are still recruiting teams for targets led by the juniors that A) review candidates and B) recommend certain ones. In effect, it's the same thing as anywhere else. The teams and juniors from target just don't have as much of a say as in other banks, but usually, our suggestions are the ones that get interviews (again unless something clearly off like terrible HV or terrible resume).

TLDR: Networking matters for JPM, just less than other banks.

Do you know what happens if you're at a target but connected best with someone who isn't from your school? I did a fair amount of calls with JPM but my best one by far was with someone I had another connection with so just curious

JPM as a firm cares the least by far about networking unless the people you spoke to are rainmaker MDs who are going out on a limb for you (unlikely to be the case). In the above comment, I described our process. Cheers and GL!

Hi, do you have an internal timeline about when the hirevues+resumes start being reviewed?

I was planning to do the hirevue on Sunday (Jan 5) as I want to have my technicals a 100% down, and was assuming applications won't start being reviewed till the 6th.

Hey what's the best way to prepare for JPM HV? I haven't done any IB prep for HV or technicals but want to complete this JPM HV as soon as possible. Thanks in advance!

Just treat it like a regular first round and answer questions to the best of your ability.

Do they have individual school teams for applications outside the US? Applying from LSE (target school in London) and want to know if my application will also end up being treated as a non-target

Yes, JPM does sponsor! Know a few international at the firm, believe it's somewhat selective sponsorship but we do sponsor!

I got an email saying I applied to a previous position (which I did over the summer) and doesn’t allow me to submit a new Hirevue. What should I do? My last one was really bad. I emailed hr but no response

So, did you get the hirevue email and then when you went to click it, it said that you do not need to do hirevue because you applied to something over the summer? I thought that this one had technicals. Asking because I might be in a similar situation.

applied to the new application that opened tdy like 2hrs ago, didn’t get a confirmation email or hirevue. anyone else experiencing this?

If you don’t get anything after another hour then I would say you didn’t get the offer… I turned mine in at like 1:45 am and got the hirvue at 3am so it’s likely a computer going through it all for now.

i got them 👍

looks like there might be some actual screening going on given the time it took. got mine 4hrs after submitting

I received the hirevue after 5 hours but no deadline is specified, the email says it's best to complete as soon as possible. So is there an actual deadline?

It says that if you apply to the insight program, it counts as an internship application. So does that mean if I don't get into the program, I don't get the internship? We can't apply to both?

I applied w the old link and they sent me an email saying to use the new link to apply again. In the email it says that there is no need to apply separately to the internship program bc the insight program application counts for both.

At Y/P/S, 3.9, int'l student, internships are relevant but non-US. Applied on Jan 1 evening EST time, rejected by IB and IB Insights an hour ago.

Same here intl no hirevue automatically rejected

Are there technical questions on the Hirevue? Heard that there’s usually not but this thread seems to indicate there is for this year

My HV questions:

3 tries for each, 1 min for behav and 90 secs for tech

- Tell me about a time you made a mistake

- $1000 of depreciation

- When would a company use debt in an acquisition

These were all in my question database, I think they recycled the questions from last year
