Based on the most helpful WSO content, BlackRock's Summer Analyst (SA) recruitment process often includes the following steps:

  1. Initial Application and HireVue Video Interview:

    • Candidates typically receive an automated video interview request shortly after submitting their application. This involves recording answers to pre-set questions. It's important to dress professionally, ensure good lighting, and minimize distractions during this stage.
  2. First Round Interview:

    • For roles like Financial Markets Advisory (FMA), the first round may involve a video recording of your answers submitted to HR. Questions can range from behavioral to technical, depending on the role.
  3. Superday:

    • Superdays for BlackRock FMA or other divisions often consist of multiple interviews. These may include:
      • Technical Interviews: Focused on your understanding of finance, markets, and role-specific knowledge.
      • Behavioral Interviews: Assessing your fit with BlackRock's culture and values.
      • Case Studies or Problem-Solving Exercises: Testing your analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Past candidates have mentioned that BlackRock recruiters typically inform candidates of results within 1-2 weeks after the Superday, though some have received offers as quickly as the next day.

If you're preparing for a BlackRock SA Superday, focus on: - Understanding the specific division you're applying to (e.g., FMA, Asset Management). - Reviewing technical concepts and market trends. - Practicing behavioral questions to align with BlackRock's principles.

Let me know if you'd like more specific advice!

I recruited last summer for an SA with client relations - process was a hirevue, then 3 rounds of 30 minute interviews with some time in between, i think the first had a gap after and then the last two back to back. I didn’t hear back until about a week after, they send you a pre-offer questionnaire which I’m positive is only if you get it. I received a call from HR with the offer two days later.

Regardless of whether you’re doing straight am or a client role, know the blackrock principles by heart and how they’re important to you, and how you would reflect them in a workplace scenario. They really emphasize teamwork and problem solving skills. Good luck.

Most definitely, best of luck! I haven't heard of anyone who received that not getting an offer, and I can't understand why they would want you to be any more anxious about whether you got one or not lmao. If in any circumstance that does happen please let us know, but as far as I'm concerned you have the green light.

I wanted to add, my interview last summer (SF office) wasn't until the summer (second week of july). They give interviews later than banks telling you you didn't get an interview a year after you applied (at least for my position)

i heard from an analyst that i know that the hirevue process doesn't usually start until june and even july!

I just got the pre-offer questionnaire form today! Superday was 06/12, today is 6/17! Anyone know if this means you got the offer?

Just got an email from HR saying “There will be an update regarding your interview in the coming days” after I did the pre-offer questionnaire a week ago. What does this mean?

Does anyone know how long it takes to hear back after the SuperDay? I had mine on Monday, 06/16, but I have not heard back anything yet.

I had a hirevue about a month before I got an email to do the superday. My superday was all behavioral with each interview being based off the different blackrock values! Very conversational and wanted to see how my experience aligns with the teams goals!

I’ve not heard back from one two weeks ago - either slow or waitlist/reject

Has anyone heard back from 2 weeks ago superdays? I haven’t seen anyone say they have. I was 6/17

For anyone interested. I received a request for additional documents about 2 days after my SD. I then received the pre offer q about 1.5 weeks after my SD. I received the offer 3 weeks after my SD.

have anyone got superday from the global trading team/e-trading under capital markets? Any insights on what the interview will look like? I assume it is a pretty technical role

If this is helpful for anyone I just got an offer! I had my interview almost 1 month ago and got the preoffer form 1 week after that. I received a call from my recruiter telling me that the team I was interviewing with was probably going to go with me. Then, two days later I got an official offer call and my written offer letter.

Timeline: Preoffer 1 week after SD. Recruiter called letting me know at Week 4. Official offer call 4 weeks after SD.
